Grapes: 40 % Grenache, 50 % Syrah, 10% Mourvédre

Tasting: Clear dark crimson wine with purple tints, very well-concentrated. Rich, elegant nose with pronounced aromas of red fruits (blackcurrant, redcurrant) slightly flavored with vanilla. Swirling the glass, it develops aromas of wood. The palate is fat, smooth, well-balanced and generous with lasting smoky leathery flavors.

Food Pairing: This wine is powerful and needs to be paired with food that has character. Wonderful with game, red meat in sauce or smoked meat on the barbecue.

Domaine de la Berthète Côtes du Rhône is a, typically, sustainably farmed red wine from the Southern Rhône region (near Camaret-sur-Aigues), featuring a 50/50 blend of Grenache and Syrah. Known for a dark, intense profile with black cherry, blackcurrant, and spicy notes, this wine often features robust tannins due to, at least in some cuvees, oak aging.

The Domaine de Châteaumar Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge (often labeled as “Secret de Nos Vignes”) is a traditionally-styled, full-bodied Southern Rhône red, typically blending 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre. It features pronounced aromas of dark fruit, herbs (garrigue), pepper, and smoke. The palate is rich and silky, with dark berry, roasted plum, and savory notes.

Domaine des Sénéchaux Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is a highly-regarded, typically southern Rhône blend (dominated by Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre) characterized by a rich yet elegant style. Owned by the Cazes family of Château Lynch-Bages since 2006, the wine features red fruit, spice, and herbal notes with soft, well-integrated tannins.
